AutoPublish

Every approved file gets its outputs automatically.

AutoPublish automates output generation in SOLIDWORKS PDM. When a file is approved, right-clicked or picked up by a scheduled task, PDF, DXF (including 1:1 flat patterns), DWG, STEP, IGES and eDrawings files are created. File names and target folders come from card variables, and outputs are linked to the source file by reference.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about AutoPublish.

Which computer generates the outputs?

AutoPublish is a SOLIDWORKS PDM task add-in. Outputs are generated on the machine you configure as the PDM task host, with SOLIDWORKS installed, so users' computers stay free.

Does it generate flat patterns for sheet metal parts?

Yes. It creates 1:1 DXF flat patterns for sheet metal parts, with file names and folders again taken from card variables.

Can I limit which files get outputs?

Yes. Define conditions on card variables, folders or configurations so that each rule runs only on the relevant files.

Can I try it for free?

Yes. PDM+ runs free with every product for 15 days from the moment it is added to the vault; no credit card required.

How is PDM+ installed?

Your PDM administrator adds the PDM+ add-in to the vault once using the SOLIDWORKS PDM Administration tool. The add-in and its settings are distributed from the vault to every client automatically — nothing needs to be installed on individual workstations.

How is it priced?

PDM+ products are licensed annually per vault, regardless of the number of users. The license is bound to the vault and stored in it, so every client uses the same license.

Which SOLIDWORKS PDM versions are supported?

SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional 2021 and later.
