Common questions about PropertyStudio.
Does PropertyStudio work without SOLIDWORKS PDM?
Yes. PropertyStudio works with local files too. If you use SOLIDWORKS PDM, it checks out edited files automatically and can import the fields from your PDM data card.
Can I exchange data with Excel?
Yes. Export the grid to Excel, edit values there and import them back. Changes are previewed before saving and can be undone.
Can I edit cut-list properties as well?
Yes. Custom, configuration-specific and cut-list (weldment and sheet metal) properties all appear in the same grid.
Can I try it for free?
Yes. SW+ runs free with every product for 15 days after installation; no credit card required. When the trial ends, enter your license key and continue where you left off.
Which SOLIDWORKS versions are supported?
SOLIDWORKS 2021 and every later release (64-bit, Windows 10/11). A single installer works with all supported versions.
How does licensing work? Do I need an internet connection?
Licenses are annual subscriptions per user (computer), including updates and technical support. After activating your key online once, the add-in works offline. When you change computers, you can remove the activation in the Customer Portal.
Do I need to reinstall to add products later?
No. SW+ is a single SOLIDWORKS add-in, and the products you buy appear as tabs based on your license. When you buy a new product, simply update your license.
